CUTDATA does |
|
CUTDATA provides Cutting Speed and Feedrate recommendations
that will result in acceptable tool life, cutting a given
material in a specific hardness range or heat treatment
condition
The user defines:
- The type of operation (e.g. drilling, turning, ...)
- Work material
- Tool material (e.g. HSS, Carbide, ...).
- Where appropriate the user also specifies depth-of-cut
and/or tool diameter.
- Machining parameters are calculated and displayed in both
inch and metric units, and in standard (sfm/ipr) and machine
(rpm/ipm) units.
- The data is based on the use of a typical water-soluble
cutting fluid.

TechSolve Data
- This database has been developed by Metcut Research
and/or TechSolve,
Inc. It is designed to provide safe, conservative starting
point speeds and feeds for a broad range of work materials.
Use of the parameters recommended for HSS and brazed carbide
tooling should result in a tool life between 1 and 2 hours
of cut time. The parameters for indexable carbide tools are
based on a projected tool life of 30-60 minutes.
